Dear Friend of the Great Peninsula Future Festival,

Our vision for the Great Peninsula Future Festival was born of a desire to involve the whole community in a conversation about sustainability. We thought it would be a fun way to bring people together, share ideas and explore simple, practical changes that could move our community in a more sustainable direction. So much of the time we toil in our own circles of interested supporters. The Future Festival brought us all together and helped to forge new alliances and partnerships, introduced us to new people and was lots of fun. We built a community resource that offers great promise.

We need to change things up a bit. There will not be a festival in 2011 but look for us again next year in 2012. We heard from many vendors that a two day festival was difficult to staff during the very busy summer season and we think it is very important to have their participation. So, we will produce a one day event with all the best workshops, opportunities to network and educate and great entertainment. We will invite political candidates to address our environmental concerns in advance of the elections. It is important to broaden the base of those who are committed to sustainability. We have lots to do to reinvent ourselves so join us in planning our future.

Sustainable Kitsap is a registered nonprofit organization with a dedicated volunteer core. We have a working website and an experienced crew. Please join us to continue with our mission to educate the public about sustainability.
